Help your local chapters promote democratic values

On May 15th, the Florida College Democrats held our first Strategy Session. These sessions take place before the start of each semester, so that the FCD can plan its major initiatives and provide trainings and information to chapter presidents.
Our Summer Strategy Session was hosted by the College Democrats at UCF, on their campus in Orlando. The session was attended by chapter presidents from all over the state, in addition to the FCD executive board. The board developed new strategies for fundraising, communication and organizing, which will help our organization grow throughout the summer semesters.
Although many college students assume that their campus is dead in the summer, we believe that maintaining a normal level of political activism on our campuses is critical to the success of our chapters. Many freshmen start classes during the summer term, and now is our chance to get them more involved in the College Democrats organization.
Thanks to the Summer Strategy Session, our chapter presidents have been equipped with the tools necessary for a productive summer term. We look forward to seeing what will be accomplished over the coming months, and hope to see everyone again at the next session in the fall!
