The National Organization for Women (NOW) is the largest organization of feminist activities in the United States. With over 500,000 contributing members and 550 chapters throughout all 50 states and DC, NOW is a name that the Women’s Caucus is very familiar with.
Ergo, when NOW announced that they would be hosting their 2011 National Conference in Tampa, Florida we knew we wanted to be there. And through working directly with Tampa’s NOW Chapter we not only attended the event, we even had a chance to volunteer and serve on panels.
The Conference itself was a three day event filled with a diversity of workshops, plenaries, awards, guest speakers, and even a feminist dance party. Women and men from across the country were in attendance, including NOW President Terry O’Neill, Former Representative Patricia Schroeder, and Mayor—now candidate for Congress— Lois Frankel.

NOW’s 2011 Conference was indeed a true showcase of intergenerational cohesion and collaboration, and the Florida College Democrats Women’s Caucus was honored to be a part of it. We look forward to next time, but till then, let’s keep doing big things.
