As we go deeper into election season, several students are speaking out on a range of issues that threaten universities and student life across the state. We're pleased to say that several of our own FCD members are speaking to the media in the coming days, including FSU's Elana McGovern who will be on WTAL in Tallahassee, and our FCD President Dominique Gelin who will be on 99 Jamz in Miami.
Highlights include FAU's College Dems President Boris Bastidas who spoke with the Sun Sentinel, our Women's Caucus Chair Anna V. Eskamani who spoke with Politico, and FCD Vice President Erin Murphy who spoke with The Gainesville Sun as well as Politico.
The Florida College Democrats Caucuses consist of College Democrats from across the state who are dedicated to furthering the platform of the Democratic Party within their specific demographic and re-electing the President.
If you are interested in becoming a Florida College Democrat Caucus Chair, please apply by filling out this application. Applications will close Thursday, April 19, at 11:59 PM.
As we look forward to an intense campaign cycle in Florida, it is crucial that Democrats statewide are well-equipped and ready to go. This is especially true with the Florida College Democrats, an active organization that is only as strong as its grassroots. To learn about the initiatives being undertaken by the FCD, as well as reasons to empower its grassroots, please consider our $20.12 for 2012 proposal. If you like what you see, and you want to see more of it, go ahead and get the ball rolling with a contribution of $20.12!
We at the FCD would like to thank everyone who made the trip up to Tallahassee for our statewide convention and for helping to make it the best FCD Convention yet! We had some fantastic speakers and workshops, and would like to give a big shout out to all of our keynote, caucus, committee and workshop speakers for their presentations as well as all of their hard work in their fields. We've had a great year but there is still a lot of work to be done, and we are proud to have elected a fantastic board of passionate and dedicated people as we look forward toward the 2012-2013 school year!
